The primary responsibilities of an Underwriting Associate are to:
 
  • Facilitate the boarding of new and re-signed customer accounts in the CPI database
  • Ensure that CPI company policies are maintained and consistently executed as they relate to underwriting, job building, job scheduling, job billing and data monitoring procedures and processes
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and efficiency in the processing of data within monitoring systems to meet departmental goals and requirements  
  • Receive inbound calls from CPI Security Consultants in order to input and process data for new and re-signed sales orders in a fashion that ensures that job-specific and general account builds are highly accurate
  • Possess a complete understanding of all internal CPI policies and consistently apply in the analysis and judgment of all approval/denials of assigned sales
  • Receive inbound calls from CPI Installation Technicians in order to process and verify all components of installation requisition and ensure billing accuracy
  • Conduct outbound calls to CPI customers to verify monitoring data
  • Process underwriting and data entry work queues within strict and urgent deadlines
  • Possess working knowledge of all part, pricing and discount information and effectively apply to handling of all internal and external inquiries
  • Provide supplemental customer support regarding internal policies and procedures as they relate to customer contracts
  • Perform document scanning, sorting, and filing as needed

Job Requirements

  • Up to two years of previous underwriting experience preferred
  • Previous call center experience preferred
  • High school diploma required, some college preferred
  • Have ability to develop and maintain a high level understanding of all policies, procedures and protocol regarding the job building, job scheduling, job billing and underwriting processes
  • Ability and willingness to perform at a high level of competency and accuracy to meet or exceed departmental standards while upholding the best interests of the customer and the company
  • Must be self-motivated and able to take initiative to complete work in a highly accurate manner, within established timelines, guidelines and standards
  • Willingness to submit to a background test and drug screen
